Bread Machine Buttermilk and Honey
Wheat Bread
(Makes one 1 1/2 lb loaf)
This bread has a delicious
flavor and a lighter texture than many wheat breads.
Ingredients:
1 cup plus 1 Tablespoon soy buttermilk (at room temperature--I
use the same amount of lemon juice as I would for an even cup)
2 Tablespoons honey
1 Tablespoon dairy-free
margarine, cut into small pieces (at room temperature)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 1/2 cups bread flour
1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
1 teaspoon yeast (I used
active dry)
1. Put all ingredients in
bread machine in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
2. Bake using whole wheat
cycle. I also use the lightest crust setting.
