I decided to change this page around to include only recipes that are
safe for people with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). I started
following the diet on the Help
for IBS website almost a year ago, and it's helped me so much! The
main idea of the diet is to avoid the foods that trigger problems in
people with IBS. Some of the biggest triggers to avoid are dairy
products, foods that are high in fat (under 25% of calories from fat is
safest), raw vegetables, alcohol (although some people tolerate the
occassional drink with dinner), red meat, caffeine, coffee (including
decaf), and carbonated beverages. Some other foods that are high in
insoluble fiber, such as green vegetables and whole grains, can also be
problematic. I'm not going to go into great detail about the diet, so
if you're not familiar with it you might want to check out the dietary
guidelines here. All the
recipes I have posted here are things that I have tried and enjoyed,
and I give credit to the original source whenever possible. Happy (and
safe) eating!
